Car ADAS Solutions Licensee Alpine ADAS Opens Reno, NV, Location

Car ADAS Solutions is proud to announce the opening of a new advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) calibration center serving the Reno–Sparks market in Nevada, operated by Alpine ADAS and owned by Jonas Grant.

A lifelong car enthusiast and RNR Tire Express franchisee with two Northern Nevada locations, Grant recognized a clear need for dedicated calibrations after jobs at his tire stores stalled due to a lack of a proper ADAS environment.

“This expansion marks an important step into a new market for the Car ADAS Solutions family,” said Nate Thomsen, manager of operations at Car ADAS Solutions. “Jonas and his team are outstanding operators, and we’re thrilled to support their success in this exciting new chapter!”

Grant partnered with Car ADAS Solutions after researching the space and visiting an operating calibration center. “I didn’t think I had the knowledge to enter ADAS alone,” Grant said. “Car ADAS Solutions stood out as the industry leader, which was confirmed after talking with CEO Greg Peeters and other calibration center owners.”

From idea to launch, the timeline moved quickly compared to opening tire stores, though not without hurdles. Lease negotiations and buildout took longer than expected, and Northern Nevada’s tight contractor market made it difficult to find crews to level and epoxy the concrete floor.

“Car ADAS Solutions helped us turn downtime into progress, keeping our newly hired techs busy with training and marketing while construction finished,” Grant said. “They even encouraged us to tackle the floor prep ourselves and guided us through every step of that process. One team member flew in from Salt Lake City just to measure our floors and flew back the same afternoon.”

The support extended well beyond construction. Car ADAS Solutions provided hands-on guidance with site selection, weekly progress calls, recruiting, training and go-to-market strategy.

Located near a cluster of collision centers, the 4,000-square-foot Alpine ADAS facility is engineered for consistency with a certified level floor, reflective metal isolated behind drywall, and a flat-white epoxy finish to control light and ensure accurate sensor targeting.

The center operates Autel and Hunter calibration systems and is adding OEM software rapidly to meet vehicle-specific needs. “We pride ourselves on handling any vehicle and haven’t met one we can’t handle yet,” Grant said. “In our area, that means a lot of Toyotas and plenty of Subarus and Jeeps, thanks to the Sierra Nevada weather conditions.”

All technicians are I-CAR Platinum certified in ADAS calibrations and trained through a combination of classroom and hands-on work. The team is expanding with a trainee program that starts with deliveries and in-house learning before advancing into I-CAR coursework.

Alpine ADAS was created to fill a clear capacity gap by focusing exclusively on calibrations. “Some competitors split attention with mechanical work, which can slow things down,” Grant said. “Turn time is everything to collision centers and insurers, so our entire model is built around that – without sacrificing quality.”

For Grant, the safety impact is the heart of the work. “Drivers rely on these systems, often without realizing it, until the moment they need them,” he said. “Cutting corners or the wrong environment can degrade performance, while proper, OEM-aligned calibration restores factory-level operation. That benefits our shop partners, vehicle owners and everyone on the road.”

Looking ahead, Alpine ADAS plans to remain laser-focused on OEM-standard calibrations with short cycle times, while evaluating additional capacity to serve outlying collision centers. “We got a fast start and expect to lean on Car ADAS Solutions’ multi-center experience as we grow,” Grant said.

ADAS Glossary

With so many different systems that ADAS encompasses, it can be hard to keep track of them all, especially as ADAS continues to evolve and become more advanced. If you work in collision repair or ADAS calibration, understanding all of the systems and sensors found in modern vehicles makes your job easier. Our ADAS Glossary is a resource that includes all of the different systems and sensors that vehicles use, including concepts like static vs. dynamic calibration and system names like FCW and LDW.
